CRISP & REFRESHING. Aromas of clover,
wet stone & a hint of lime match concentrated, but delightfully dry flavors
of crisp apple, pear & citrus. Bright, zesty acidity & a spicy mineral
note lead to a soft, broad, yet clean, finish.
Weingut Liebfrauenstift is located in the German city of
Worms & occupies lands that have been planted to Riesling for over 500
years. Wines from this special vineyard that surrounds
the Liebfrauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) have been highly regarded for
centuries, often sold as “Liebfraumilch” (“milk of Our Lady”). Indeed, the name
became so famous that hundreds of lower-quality “Liebfraumilch” operations
cropped up along the Rhine River, hoping to capitalize on the craze. Today,
Weingut Liebfrauenstift has completely disassociated itself from the
lower-quality product, and is seeking to redefine itself as a quality producer
of German Riesling in styles that run the gamut. |
