"Franco" Cabernet Franc is Chile's great Cabernet Franc. Under the
guidance of renowned master blender, Jacques Boissenot, Maquis has produced a
100% Cabernet Franc that is not only an elegant wine to drink now, but will
transform as it ages over the next 20 years. The unique seasonal conditions and
soils of the Colchagua Valley help to produce a wine with great aromatic
intensity and complexity.
93 points Robert Parker's Wine
2010 Franco is Cabernet Franc, a serious wine with some austerity, a sense of
earth and minerals, a texture or a feeling more than a flavor. It is intense,
powerful, with strong personality, combining power and finesse, very good
balance, acidity and freshness. Structured but juicy. This is the third vintage
for this superb Cabernet Franc from a warm climate. It has finesse and balance,
with an Audrey Hepburn kind of complexity and elegance. It’s approachable now,
but should also age well. Drink now-2020.
92 points Wine Enthusiast
its compact nose of blackberry and cassis aromas, this wine comes across as
ripe and modern. In the mouth, it’s round, bouncy, tannic and exuberant, but
not overdone. Flavors of blackberry and fig are smooth, while the finish is
rich and ready. Editors' Choice.
